User Interface

Events

Historical events refer to occurrences or triggers that are detected and initiated by sensors or users that control these sensors. These events are generated when sensors detect specific conditions or changes in their environment.

Self Awareness events refers to actions triggered by the watchdog. These are permantely stored for your covinience.

User events refer to any change done based on the actual human or system interference with the Tentacles sensors.

Sensor data

XT-M: Multi-sensor data refers to data collected from multiple sensors within a single device, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the environment being monitored.

Signaling

Signaling in network performance refers to the process by which network devices communicate with each other to establish, manage, and terminate connections or sessions. Signaling plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and efficiency of network operations.

Effective signaling in network performance is essential for maintaining reliability, efficiency, and performance in modern network environments, particularly in complex and dynamic networking scenarios.

Advanced Sensor settings

MyTentacles dashboard detail sensor settings

Sensor calibration settings refer to the parameters and configurations used to adjust and optimize the performance of sensors to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

Calibration is the process of comparing the output of a sensor to a known reference value and making adjustments to minimize any discrepancies or errors.

Zero Offset:

This setting adjusts the sensor output when there is no input or when the input should be zero. It helps eliminate any offset or bias in the sensor output.

Dynamic Sensitivity:

The gain setting adjusts the sensitivity of the sensor to changes in input. It determines how much the sensor output changes in response to a given change in the input signal.

Calibration Interval:

This setting determines how often the sensor needs to be calibrated to maintain accuracy. It may be based on factors such as the sensor’s stability, environmental conditions, or regulatory requirements.

Calibration Method:

Calibration settings may also include the method used for calibration, such as two-point calibration, multi-point calibration, or factory calibration.

Calibration Records:

We allow the storage of calibration records, including the date of calibration, calibration results, and any adjustments made. This helps track the sensor’s performance over time and ensures compliance with quality standards or regulations.

Bulk Set-up

Bulk setup for wireless sensors refers to the process of configuring multiple sensors simultaneously or in large batches rather than individually. This approach is commonly used in deployments where numerous sensors need to be set up quickly and efficiently.

Self Awareness

MyTentacles dashboard detail SA Advanced

Self Awareness is a 24/7 watchdog that refers to the configurable parameters and configuration profiles that dictate the behavior and operation of wireless sensors. These settings are crucial for optimizing the performance, reliability, and security of wireless sensor networks. Below the most important wireless sensor settings:

Network Configuration:

This includes settings such as the network topology, network addressing and LpWAN network routing protocols.

Transmission Power:

The transmission power setting determines the strength of the wireless signal emitted by the sensor. Higher transmission power can increase the range of communication but may also consume more power.

Data Rate:

The data rate setting specifies the rate at which data is transmitted between sensors and the gateway or other nodes in the network. Higher data rates can provide faster communication but may also require more power.

Sleep mode:

Tentacles sensors often operate in a low-power mode to conserve energy. The standby interval setting determines how frequently the sensor wakes up to transmit data or listen for incoming messages. Longer sleep intervals can prolong battery life but may increase latency.

Security Settings:

These settings include encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms to secure communication and prevent unauthorized access or tampering with sensor data.

Sensor Sampling Rate:

The sampling rate setting specifies how frequently the sensor takes measurements. Higher sampling rates provide more granular data but may consume more power.

Signal Coverage

Overall, LPWAN technologies offer extended radio signal coverage compared to traditional short-range wireless technologies, making them suitable for IoT applications that require long-range communication with low power consumption. However, the actual radio signal coverage for LPWAN may vary. Actual coverage can always be real time checked.

All around the globe, from Vancouver (CA) to Rotterdam (NL).

Tentacles IoT are always open to explore new approaches and technologies that make their products more unique. This willingness to innovate has led to great developments regarding sensors!
